Design process and CAD development
Some of you are wondering why the name “Pinion” watches? Well a “Pinion” is a small gear wheel that is situated in the heart of a mechanical timepiece. It may not sound much but it is a very important part of the watch. They are know to drive visible parts of the watch such as the hands.
So the Axis Watch runs on an ETA 2824-2 movement, so servicing and spares are unlikely to be a problem in years to come. Its all round great movement. Simple and gets the job done. Each rotor will be removed, decorated, plated and re-fitted. And each of Pinion’s watches will be assembled and tested at “The Motion Works” which is Pinion’s UK watch assembly and service centre. The case is a 42mm solid block of steel or bronze depending on what you choose and has a water resistance of 100 metres. With 8 beats per second (28,800 per hour) the movement allows for high accuracy and is very robust. When fully wound, is has a power reserve of 40 hrs. There also is a Swiss Superluminova luminous coating on the dial and hands to ensure visibility in the dark.
